If Eden has gone why has there been no announcement from the club?

I was wondering the same, been looking at Fax Facebook, Fax Courier, Panthers own website, nothing and nothing from the receiving club. If it’s true just show what a shambles the club is in, If not then the rumour mill is working overtime.

If I had to guess players comings and goings been announced it appears with the 1885 cup semifinal this weekend a lot of players not involved in games this weekend are having various breaks so interviews etc will have to wait till they return.

We lost 5 of the original squad early doors, 3 down to injury and Moore and Murray asking to leave because of not being guaranteed a starting spot reducing a small squad even more.
Still puzzled why McComb is starting in the second row when Olly Davies and Hursy Horde can’t get a start and need some game time it’s not the like pack are dominating anyone.
Davies will be the next one getting unsettled if it stays the same as he’s good enough to be playing more than he is in most Championship sides.

Agree on all points , regarding McComb starting ahead of davies and horsey Hurd it makes no sense to me . Reading another post on Facebook fans forum which rings true regarding recruitment so will copy n paste it

Jonathan Case honestly mate I've had enough and kept quiet. The bod have not only put there own money in they actually recruited well on paper, Adam obrien (obs injured but class) Widdop , Eden! At beginning of the season everyone thought we would challenge for the league and why not because on paper the 3 signings here are class, form is temporary, class is permanent, im positive the players out of form will come good, obviously the bod made a decision to bring in less players and try get higher quality, which has resulted in a limited squad, with widdop and Eden's salary along that is easily 5 champship players, so at the moment if doesn't look like it's paid off.

As for performance I do see good habits starting to appear and we will click defensively amd in attack. If we play like we did against fev we will beat all the teams out of the top 5 based on that performance alone. Obviously improvement is needed but as soon as we get a win and build confidence we will start to build positive habits.

The only point thing I would change is recruitment in the pack , it’s one thing we haven’t addressed, however despite this I believe if Douglas and lannon hit form , recruit the French prop then we won’t be a million miles off .

I think its a stretch to say that everyone thought we would challenge for the league, I think general concensous seemed to be for us to be sneaking in to the playoffs and at a real push 3rd or 4th although the disaster of a game against Hammersmith really put paid to that and that is the bad fortune that can hurt badly when running a skinny squad like we have.

I'd say our recruitment at best was iffy. We know O'Brien is class and Widdop although personally I thought the money should have been spent elsewhere, was still an interesting signing who could have been fun to watch. The main problem was we needed bulk upfront and at least 3 or 4 of our pack should have been moved along and replaced and we certainly needed a centre as is proven every week with one of Tibbs or McComb playing there and leaking tries each game. I thought Davies and Hursey looked promising signings but must be a worry for them that they can't get much game time in a pack that is rolled every week. I didn't see the point in signing C. Davies, he was obviously very cheap and one to pad out the squad. I forgot Douglas in there, I think he is a class signing its just unfortunate that he got that nasty injury while still at Sheffield, would loved to have seen him and Calcott together.

There is talk that we got offered Maizen back as he is unhappy at Haven but Finn has no interest in having him back, personally didn't see him as a centre but he has killer pace and would have loved to see him get a shot on the wing where we now have an open spot with Eden leaving.

Whilst I think I can read some sense in it with one eye shut riding a galloping horse on a dark night, overall sounds like he’s had a few too many beers before posting to me and if we’re relying on that to get us out of it, could be worse than I first thought.

Seriously though thinking about the squad apart from the five I mentioned that we lost at the same time another two Widdop and Douglas weren't fit Douglas long term and Widdop making big part appearances.
Then Eden who’s class doesn’t help his recent injury record.
And finally the unmentionable “arrangement” here this week and gone the next players.
On reflection I’m not surprised we’ve struggled for form, continuity or the rest of it.
Much too early to assess Finn but with the cards he’s been dealt well done for even getting a team out

Bit more from Matt Shaw on the Greg Eden situation which once again looks to be problems with another of the newer signings, not good with everything else that's going on.
