Aye, this is the coach who said he wouldn't use DR due to the detrimental effect it would have on our reserve team. We're only taking Clare for the sake of it. Can you imagine RM looking at our potential team for the Rochdale game and thinking, what position do I need to strengthen? Half back maybe? No, I'll take a winger instead. Now then Mr Powell, please could we have.....

Yes he did say that some time back concerning DR and he has obviously changed his mind which is his perogative, the book stops with him being the head coach.
There’s no point in speculating on a conversation between him and DP which only exists in imagination.

It's not imagination though that anyone who has been watching this team can see where the problems are. The deal with Cas was to allow different players with different skills to be available who we couldn't afford because of the debt from particularly the 2015/16 season.keeping the reserves gives another option. So if you have a problem but you don't try and do anything to fix it completely baffles me. What do you say for the Leigh match ......well they played well against Rochdale and we scored some good try's but we can't seem to do it against Leigh. (Fev, Toronto and London) just how many try's did we score in last years 8s? That's what the entire close season should have been about.

Agreed RM seems to be stuck in a mold and the fact is we consistently fail to offer sufficient threat to score as a team.
However if he was to bring in a half from Cas others would complain about the DR system again.
He may well try BJ and JWH at 7 and 6 this week with Muzza on the bench and rest Ben Kaye with Murrel cover for 6,7,9 and even 13.
He may well give Heaton a run this week and leave Clare out.
Who knows, but bottom line is he’s the head coach and with input from Martin Gonzales, Grix and Muzza you would have thought he was in a better position than any of us to know.
Maybe he’s not good enough, maybe the players aren’t good enough, maybe we are being out coached and out played and we are only as good as a club as the results suggest.

I have been to all the games this year and most last year and i agree we do have a problem with attack but why do we always put negative comments about team selection and even player like muzza that put 100% into every game. If marshall wasnt a good coach why would we of made the top 4 2 out of 3 seasons. Get behind the lads and marshall i am sure if he had the budget to bring in other players he would but in reality he hasnt so DR and the reserve grade is what he has.
