Yesterday's support. : Mon Jun 11, 2018 11:38 am
What a great game it was yesterday. The weather, the action and a couple of new micropubs, barring the result it was just a great day. But, do you know what, the thing that really stuck out for me was the amount of young kids supporting Fax. Our away support has really picked up, it was deafening at times yesterday, but the amount of young fans with their blue and white wigs, painted faces and Fax kits on was really encouraging. Let's hope this continues and on to Sale we go. Up The Fax!

good point made since LS28 started the face painting etc my lad is asking to go all the time. Only downside its a night mare to get off his shirt afterwards :D. The support is up massively think the club made the right choice giving free kids season tickets with adults tickets this year the kids are the future

Just in case anyone wasn't aware, Jo (the Chavvy Lady from an earlier post :D ) and Amy who do the face painting do it for free but on this occasion asked for donations in aid of the Whitehaven Fund.

They subsequently donated £150 to the fund!

Average attendance for the year is slightly down on last year but is about 150 up when compared on the same teams we played last season. Its hard to get people through the gates.

I'm trying to get an ex-fan to the Batley game but his reaction to the admission fee he exclaimed "NINETEEN QUID? You're joking. For a semi professional match?" I said £17 if you pay in advance but he still shook his head.

He's right. £17 to £19 is too hefty to attract new adult fans. There's so much more cheaper entertainment ......... 7 pints and a burger in Wetherspoons for a start. It's the same for all clubs. It's tough. What can you do? I notice 'Haven are reducing their admission to a tenner. That's much much more reasonable. Maybe if we "have to" continue charging £17 then try and get a sponsor to get a well known band in as a curtain raiser. Some additional attraction. As I say it's tough. Wouldn't like to be a RL club market man!
