RL on BBC : Sat Jan 06, 2018 4:26 pm
Just be listening to Fighting Talk on 5Live. The subject was longest losing streaks and one pundit mentioned Warrington Wolves and stated that although they are a big club the last time they won the league Anthony Eden was Prime Minister. For those of you that have never heard of him it was 1954. This started me thinking and I decided that for all the poop we've had to go through lately I think I would have rather witnessed what we have done (especially the 10 years from 2000) than have their record. Still at least we all know that this year will be their year (as we keep getting told). What do other people think - about us not Wolves.

Yes, same.

I consider myself very lucky to have witnessed in about 27 years of enjoying the sport and supporting Bradford RL, about 5X the amount of success that most supporters of RL clubs will ever have the chance to see.

Most supporters wont even see their clubs win a cup final or league/promotion.

In my lifetime I have witnessed (either live or on TV):

4 x Super League Titles
2 x Challenge Cups
3 x World Club Challenges (100% record)
6 x Grand Finals (3 wins, 5 appearances on the bounce)
3 x League Leaders Shields
1 x Championship Shield

Plus for me, seeing some World Class players at Bradford. The likes of who we may never see again like Henry and Robbie, Lowes, Fielden, Peacock, Pryce, Vainikolo and Hape, Naylor, Viakona, Withers, Spruce, Deacon, Anderson, Vagana, Forshaw, McDermott and McKay.

Like Bulls 4 Champs said, some clubs never experience all this and haven't recently. I mean no disrespect to any club but clubs like Wakefield (49 years since they won anything, although it has been exciting being a fan for them), Castleford (finally won something last season after god knows how many years).

I think every club has a reason to be excited for their own reasons. But not many have had a period of sustained success like we have, really only Leeds, Wigan and St Helens. I'd say these three are ahead of us now due to our plight. But even now it's still exciting to be a Bulls fan. This is the lowest and worst I have seen us in my life. A lot of you will have seen sub 1,000 crowds and worse days but yet it's still exciting times. We can still attract quality, Chisholm, Smith, Gibson, keeping Ryan and Oakes etc.
