I'd have no confidence at all in any player coming back after two years away from the game getting back to the standard they were at previously. That's even if they looked after themselves. If Wigan (or anyone else) offer him any guarantees that far ahead they're crazy.

What exactly do you expect them to do, keep paying him whilst trying to sell a player nobody wants to buy.

Also team moral states that it's best to get shut of this kind of bad influence ASAP.

Finally is he the best FB in SL? It's pretty subjective but even if he is that's more indicative of the lack of quality in SL than anything else - he's no Slater and most teams imho could function just fine without him.

TBF Manfredi may never be back at this point or at least the player he was and Burgess rumoured to be looking to head back to Aus so could be. Only said "looking at"......hardly means made a bid or been in contact with. Every team will have their best players being "looked at" by rival clubs.

You're right, it's warrington who want johnstone

As for hardaker, surely 2 years salary for him would significantly outweigh any potential transfer fee plus add in the disruption of having him hanging around the club and the club trying to police what he's doing for 2 years and you can understand why they've binned him
