Not sure there are many Widnes fans trawling these boards anymore but if there are I'm hoping someone can clear something up for me.

At last Friday's game a chant went up which appeared to be "oh Tommy, Tommy, Tommy, Tommy, Tommy, Tommy Robinson". I assumed I'd misheard it at the time but a few of our fans have also mentioned it on our forum so I just wanted to know if we've all misheard!

Anyone able to confirm either way as if we heard correct I'm not sure it's something the Widnes club would be too keen on being associated with?!

Self-explanatory? Not really, if you're;

A) Not familiar with the once famous Widnes Vikings' squad

B) Unable to decipher the plastic Scouse accent

It was a genuine question and thanks to HXSparky for putting me straight. In light of the recent press coverage of TR it wouldn't surprise me hearing that sort of a chant from some of our more ignorant/bigoted RL fans but glad to see the Scousers are in the clear on this one.

At that Salford/Widnes game last week the handful of Salford fans that was there spent more time singing about 'Scousers' than getting behind their own side.

Same in football for supporters of yesterdays club Man Utd. They spend 90 mins of every game chanting about 'Scousers' instead of cheering for the team they are supposed to support.

It must be something in the air in that part of the world.

Enjoy the Championship next year. You'll have fun playing the "we're the biggest club in the championship" Top Trumps game with the Leythers.
