Did not see that coming after the first 15 minutes. They scored off their first four attacks !
Still not sure how we won !

Looked like we were in for some grief after 20 minutes, They completely dominated our pack as usual, Micky Mac alone looked to have them beaten, But somehow we found a way to cling on and restrict them to 1 point second half so full credit to them for that, Even the last 15 minutes Dragons were still going length of field every set but we held them out where it mattered most.
In the last 10 we definitely got the better of the calls. and we need someone who catch the kick off balls as well as Brough does. 2 points in the bag, Dont know what Woolford said at half time but the defence changed for the better.

I saw on twitter that Alan Tait set out to watch the Giants under 19's, now I don't trust this guy as he works for Scotland RU and he recently signed the young Castleford player so no doubt he was targeting one of the Giants Academy players.
Has Jake Wardle signed for the Giants yet ?
It's important we keep the best youngsters in RL.

Danny Brough wasn’t playing might have had an effect, interesting that the team who got into the refs ear all the time ended up with a high mumber of penalties against.

Had Brough done half the stuff Bird and Gigot did he would have been in the bin without doubt.

I think the Cats thought they had it won at 24-6 they attacked really well for 25 mins then seemed to go into see out the game mode with a long long time left.

5 tries to 4 to us says that we deserved to sneak the win and the touch judge clearly stood back on the disallowed late try and waited to tell the ref it wasn’t one so don’t understand where Cats were unlucky myself.

Despite everything written on here throughout the season there seems to be no lack of effort from the players. They seemed to be throwing everything into the game.

It was like men v boys at times. Catalans seemed to make twice the metres we did at every set yet we just kept holding on.

Would love someone to post match stats about carries and metres made.
Have to give big raps for that sort of effort to the players and the coaches.

Catalans did make more metres but not by a lot. The big difference was the penalty count in Giants favour and the Giants only missed 9 tackles all game compared to Catalans25.

It’s on the superleague website as part of the game report.

With Ta’ai and Clough missing it makes a big difference,if you add Wakeman to the mix, we had three of our seasons starter props missing and Ta’ai and Clough are big metre making units.

The game started to change when Seb and Dan Smith came on and having been a Smith critic, credit where it’s due, he’s improved no end since Rick Stone left.

The two week break has come just right for Matty English as at times last night he looked weary and took a few big hits we mustn’t forget his youth and manage his game time properly as his style means he takes some stick.

Same with young Ollie Russell good to see him play well again last night be interesting if we end up with him, Brough and Jackson Hastings next season.

The much maligned Gaskell was 3rd highest metre maker last night with 116 a creditable performance this week

Yes Jake has, there are usually at least a couple of scouts at the academy games and with the talent in there at the moment it's easy to see why.

18-0 down.. 24-6 down... looked game over!

once again drinkwater ran the show with his kicking and working behind that big pack, we really do need to get some size in the team next season.

catalan started to give too many penalties away and with great charater shown from us we somehow got the win!!

good crowd, shame we arent playing at home again for a while to keep the momentum going on that score
