Said it before and I'll say it again. Get the stadium then hammer Box et all for the community facilities. There's much more public sway on these and they will be easier to deliver with public opinion against council. They won't be able to hide behind the club.

That’s goes to the heart of my point, if the stadium deal gets done without the community sports facilities also signed and sealed then they will be forgotten by the major players in this as they’ll draw a line under it and move on.

Feel free to disagree but that’s my opinion.

There’s no disrespect intended in the use of surnames, no one worries about players being referred to by just their surnames or the coaches for that matter. It’s a forum post not a formal letter!

Well actually, I tend to refer to the players/coaches I respect by either their Christian name or their common nickname, but hey that's just my opinion.
I also hate people generalising all the time using a "catch all" to try substantiate their incorrect theories

Well it sounds like a fans message board isn’t a good place for you to be, maybe an OCD clinic forum would be better

I wouldn’t criticise IA or PT so I’m not really including them in this, they’re volunteers and aren’t obliged to do anything more than the rest of us.

I do include Carter, Box, Mackie and yes to a ledger extent Hussain who all have a vested interest in this one way or another. Carter is Chairman of the club and the club is obligated to see the whole of this delivered not just the stadium.

Sorry but MC isn't obliged to see the community element is delivered I don't see how you come to that conclusion - the Trust is the club isn't.

You can't have it both ways, the job of getting the stadium and the community facility was always the job of the Trust. The only roll of the club is to be a tenant.

You seem to be confusing Carters vocal refusal to accept a fob off deal for the club as being the same as taking on the council on behalf of the rate payer - that is not his job that is the job of the trust.

If trinity didn't exist the stadium element wouldn't be feasible but as they do it is. The community element would should and must go ahead regardless of what the club ends up with.

You seem to want to lump them together but they are separate issues linked by circumstances. It's not a sin to take the BV upgrade should it happen unless the Trust dropped the rest which I doubt they will.

I disagree, Mr Micheal Carter and the club are one and the same in this issue and the club was always intrinsic to the deal. There certainly wouldn’t have been a PI and there’d have been no need for the Officer of the SoS to visit Leigh Sports Village and Wheldon Rd had it not been for the needs of Wakefield Trinity to be met as part of the deal.

The new stadium and community facilities were never two seperate issues with regard to the Newmarket proposal and there is now a responsibility with Wakefield Trinity to see that the deal as proposed is fulfilled.

IMO if the club accepts the new stadium deal with no signed and sealed deal for the Community facilities then they’re abdicating that responsibility and will become little better than the others who’ve profited from the removal of the green belt land.

While Im a big Trinity fan I’m also a citizen of Wakefield and feel the provision of Community facilities for the city is as vital, if not more so, as the stadium.

IF we get offered exactly what 88m said they were going to do and then we turn it down because of the lack of the other facilities, then where do we go from there. We seem almost likely to be heading towards franchising in the next 2 years. So if we turn down the Belle Vue upgrade, 88m will just want us out at the end of this next season, which we'd then become a nomad team. All of which has the makings of being kicked out of SL, which seems crazy after all the good work being down on and off the pitch. Once that's happened even if Newmarket was miraculously on the table in a few years, would it be even viable for us as a Club to move in, in whatever div we'd be in. God knows how many supporters we'd have by that time as well. Could even see them pulling a, seen as Trinity is not a SL club anymore the development isn't viable.

Saying all that, there's no reason imo that we can't sort the Stadium out and let the Trust do their work getting the Community aspect sorted because they'll feel like all of us we've got shortchanged. Hopefully, we do end up with Belle Vue being redeveloped and the Community facilities still go ahead at Newmarket, or even elsewhere.

Ateotd not many people want those extra facilities more than me, I was looking forward to them. At the moment and the past number of years, my mates & I have played 5 a side at College Grove and would love some new extra facilities too use. It's a nightmare in summer booking a pitch down there just down to limited pitches & demand.

Must say, I think Vastman is spot on with his interpretation of the Trust v Club involvement in the whole sorry saga.

So we get a stadium and move on!

The club has no responsibility to fight for the Community sports element of the development, is that what’s being said here?
