Well Hull have apparently made about 500k from it so I'd absolutely love it if we got the chance to do something like that.

Cannot see that being right at all. Cas turned the chance diwn as the outlay was about 250k I believe. Two games one of which was an away game and the other a friendly is unlikely to raise tgat amount of revenue even if the fates were splif. There were 12000 at the game last week and that goes nowhere near 500k

They've been paid by the NSW tourism board to go out there haven't they? Think Hull will have barely spent anything. Saw one estimate that it's brought about $10 million into the local economy. Seems a good investment to give Wigan and Hull a few hundred grand each for that kind of return.

Correct - both teams have made a handsome profit from the project.

Saw the same estimate on twitter, think it was from a local news channel in Aus so it certainly looks like a worthwhile investment for the NSW tourist board

Maybe we should invite some Aussie clubs over here to pump cash into the Wakefield economy and then WMDC may think that RL is worthwhile in the city

The fact that 1000's of young kids stay fit and have a distraction in their lives plus the "pleasure" brought to 1000's of fans isnt enough for our lot.

I stand corrected but why did Cas knock it back then if that sort of dosh was available?

Could be anything from having to deal with the Hardaker fallout to the rumoured trouble brewing between CEO and Coach.
