I do hate it when people at the club make assertions that we are "top four". It just sets us up for a fall in my opinion. Although I do think he's maybe more alluding to the idea that we can be "top four" and challenge again with the way we are setting up. Still, just don't use those words right now.
Seems to be hinting that Grix is still in the mix. If that's genuinely the case, just announce him as the head coach now and let him start shaping up the backroom team he needs/wants. Don't create all this uncertainty and then turn around and say "Yeah, after all that we're giving it to Grix" because that will just feel like he's the fallback option which is hardly reassuring. He's here and he could be properly making his stamp on the club now instead of just trying to keep us ticking over as he's trying to do now.
Also a bit contradictory saying the coach will have a blank canvas given the signings we've already made or rumoured to have made. It's imperative that the new coach has an influence on our recruitment going forward.
