I don't think any of us had the belief that we were ever one of the best two teams in this league. We've been clinging onto the hope that the promotion play-off system was going to give us a lifeline that we probably didn't deserve.

Unless the totally unexpected happens next week and Toronto are still canned up from their celebrations, we're going to be consigned to another season in Championship One.

It's now Richard Horne's job to put together his own squad for next season with Club Doncaster backing him with the necessary funds. I've posted previously I wasn't sure that it would have particularly been a good thing had we got promoted this season as we haven't really got the nucleus of a side capable of staying up.

With regards to today's game, Newcastle played well and had a game changer in Lewis Young. Monsieur Miloudi looked capable of being wound up all game and like many French backs will really need to control his temper if he's to fulfil his potential.

Disappointed that we didn't win, but not really all that surprised.

As far as next season goes, for starters, I really think we need an experienced half-back who can guide us round the field.

I don't think Club Doncaster will provide the necessary funds to give RH a better squad for next season I think they will again use the Lone Ranger & Tonto system.
The club needs some directors on the board who have experience of running a professional Rugby League team & also have good contacts within the game.

It's always quiet on here S/O.

Just looking at next week's games, Keighley are at Barrow and Newcastle are at York. If they both lose, and we lose as expected in Toronto, we'd still finish in 5th place.

Wouldn't that just perpetuate the agony for one game more?

We started the first half with a good 5 mins of pressure, lost our way for 30 mins and finished with a good 5 mins to go in looking quite flattered at 16 points apiece.

The second half could have gone either way and again it's a case of 'what ifs'. We still have the inability to close out matches and things could have been better had Jason Tali held on to the ball on the first tackle after blocking their kick instead of chucking it inside blindly. On the other hand, if it had come off, we'd have been singing his praises.

As in the first match on the athletics pitch, Thunder were quicker moving up in defence & looked sharper at the play the ball.

Until we match this, we're always going to be on the back foot.

Still not all over (I'm not at all confident) but we certainly don't like doing anything the easy way.

With regards to Miloudi, performed well and looked a threat all match but had to march for spitting. Can't think what must have happened to react in such a filthy way. Long ban coming up me thinks.

If I were carl and Richard id bounce miloudi all the way back to hull and never want to see him again, that was disgusting what he did and a part of me hoped he would of got levelled by the Newcastle players, as for the game some of our decision making is embarrassing i.e going down the blind side on the 1st tackle and getting carried out, intercepting a kick getting to half way then flinging the ball wildly straight to the opposition on the 1st tackle, I called this club amateurish a few days ago and would challenge anyone on here to argue against that.

Think you are right. The team is only as good as its weakest link..and our team seems to have been running a sweep to see who can fook up our chances every match.

Richard Horne has NO control over this unruly mob.

No surprise about Miloudi, he has a track record of these kind of antics and most French fans I know are amazed he was given a deal by FC.
Surely CH has to walk after such a bad season ? Of course he wont but will continue to draw a fat salary and employ golden oldies who shouldn't be anywhere near a rugby pitch.
