If you want to go down that road then Rovers may well have had Mills, Gene,Netherton,I'Anson playing.

Not sure i can agree with Hull controlled the game Dave.
I thought Spaven controlled it for the opening 20 and it was the 20 minutes after HT when Hull got on a roll that eventually made the difference.
If Hull controlled the game they should have won by far more then 2 points.

Scott Taylor has a big future in front of him if he continues to progress.
I liked the look of the ginner Hull brought off the bench and the Winger was dangerous.

What was most apparent to me is the differing styles between the 2 clubs at every level.
Hull just try to bash their way up the middle whilst Rovers look to get the ball to the 3/4's at the earliest chance.
It was the same in the Academy game on Thursday.

Had it been 2 reserves starting line ups in the purest forms IE no King etc and Rovers with Watts/Mariano/Dee it may well have been an easy victory for Rovers.

I enjoyed the game though and thought the discipline of both sides deserves a mention.

Not sure I agree with that.

The conditions played a huge part in the game hence Rovers 10 point start.

Thought Hull always looked the stronger and this was proved as the game went on.

Rovers took a 10 point lead before the downpour.
So before the ball became slippery and harder to play an expansive game.
Where as Hull played one man rugby for virtually the whole 80 minutes so it didnt hamper them much.
As previously said if Hull controlled the game or always looked stronger the scoreline suggests otherwise.

It could be said that said that by playing one man rugby Hull are preparing their reserve players for the first team.

That's a good point... I think I said this after the first game away to Bradford 8)
