Brad Ricks, deputy sports editor at the Gold Coast Bulletin wrote:

“In open space, Kelly is a freak with incredible footwork,” he told the Mail.

“Kelly is the pick of the two signings and has incredible talent, but this season he has had problems with injuries.

He is an organising half-back who is a fantastic game-breaker. He is a super talent and was first choice at the Titans last season.

“He has the attributes to be a modern day full-back and was in such great form that he was close to playing in the City v Country Origin game. He was on the cusp of that but then picked up an injury and missed out.

“If he stays fit and healthy he can be sensational.”

Hmmmm, who to believe. The deputy sports editor of the paper based where Kelly has played, or a troll based 12,000 miles away with a clear agenda to put down HKR in order to inflate his own teams mediocre signings? It's certainly a tough one.

Do we know who is available to possibly fill the quota spot left by Justin Poore; either a prop or a 'tackle-busting' 2nd rower'?

We need at least 2 props! Cox, mcarthy, horne, larroyer, costigan, ollett can cover 2nd row, we only have weyman, green, walker as props

Whilst not knowing who is available, you will be up against Saints Wigan and Huddersfield who are all looking to add props to their rosters before the start of next season if rumours are to be believed...

Kelly has never shown any organisation skills during the two years i've watched him play, he's off the cuff and a very good runner of the football capable of flashes of brilliance.

I have no 'agenda' and to suggest I have is just laziness.

"Kelly is brilliant on his day, but has never played a game at No.7 and is better known as a ball-running five-eighth."

Totally agree. Perhaps someone from the minor leagues, one player sticks out and is in the NSW Cup 'Dream' team - Jim Simpson. Perhaps Roopy can offer a profile?

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Frederick Douglas

"Kelly can be a master of the swerve, but does occasionally fall on his back side, he is able to channel the spirit of Rah, The Fearsome Crocodile, with which he terrifies his opponents, Kelly is cappable of throwing forty metre passes but unfortunately they mainly land in the sheds, he is an accomplished pianist, having recently gained his grade seven, Kelly holds the record for most failed attempts at trying to gain his cycling proficiency".

Bruce Sheila, The Woolongong Wailer.
