Eels are prepared to significantly subsidise that and offered him to Brisbane cut price. So Rovers would have to pay not much more than the £180k per year Ellis is getting at Hull. Even with the subsidy Brisbane were not interested.
Sandow has a history of gambling problems and tends to do his own thing on the pitch like chip & chase on the first tackle which is frowned on in NRL. When he signed for Parramatta he was hailed as their best half back since Peter Sterling but now they are very keen to move him on.
Even so he has produced some brilliant performances not least when covering at full back for Jarryd Hayne recently.
I said a while ago that in my opinion Neil Hudgell would not let Burns go for nothing and would not let him go unless we had someone of similar or better quality to replace him. I remain of that view and although entirely different players Sandow would be an incredibly exciting alternative to Burns.
Let's hope it comes off and with Miller counting as federation trained it doesn't rule out the option of him coming along for the ride too.
Very interesting. It's like you've read a Pater Sterling piece in the telegraph after the first game of the season and are repeating it as fact here.
