Taking the top 5 (STS, WIG, LEEDS, WIRE & HUDDS)

Last time I looked, Cas were 2nd and Leeds 6th. Cas will finish in the top 5, therefore, I think you need to recalculate your table.

You are indeed correct, however the table was refering to teams I would expect Kr to beat at the start of the season, taking out the projected top 5 who are difficult to beat regularly.
Most coaches within that group of 9 clubs would target those games as winable and by beating those teams and picking up pts against the proposed top 5 puts you well within the making the top 6, as Cas have proved by being exceptional against all clubs this season.
The table for me highlights how poor we have been against clubs I would of thought we were more than capable of beating at the start of 2014.

both Hull teams have been shocking this season, and with Radford and Chester I really cannot see it getting much better. Sandercock and Gentle had their faults, but they were both better coaches. We need to get over this "local player" thing, well supported teams with good grounds, if we're not careful then a home game against Halifax will be the highlight of our season next year.

Potentially winnable fixture.

While obviously you want your team to make the 8 in the new format, if they come in 7th or 8th, maybe 6 points adrift of 4th at rnd 23 they'd have to go on a very good run to make the top 4 play-offs, playing all the top teams. For all the talk of every minute matters (which in fairness is very hard to deliver) a loss in round 24 might effectively end your challenge with 6 games left.
In some ways ninth might offer a more compelling run-in and better vfm.

the derby games have no more or less importance than any other game to me, I'll never go to Craven Park, but that is as far as my dislike of KR goes, if we finished 1/2 every season, contested the challenge cup and Grand Final I'd be quite happy.

sensibly, we should merge, it's not the 80's anymore.
