I make that 20 players who have come and gone from the club within the last three seasons. That's excluding those that never quite made it here (Taulapapa and the Papuan projects) and loanees. You'd expect some turnover - Dave Hodgson doing 3 years and retiring was no surprise - but 20 is proper revolving door. Sometimes you need to make a change and it can work well (2008) or less well (2012), but doing it every year soon gives you no foundation. We're basically starting from scratch again. Plus we've lost the likes of Taylor, Dobson and Hodgson who were those we'd hoped to build around.
I guess getting away from the culture of constant change is another change in itself, but I hope Chester and his team can achieve it. This is going to be a reet tough season, with no teams as poor as London or Bradford were this year, to more or less guarantee the odd win along the way. I hope the club, from top to bottom, are patient. It's hard when you've had 3 'transitional' seasons that, in terms of the first team, have with hindsight been nothing more than unstable. Still, a couple of new signings and it'll look better I daresay - hopefully they'll still be here for 2016.
