Who would you leave out against Huddersfield? : Sat Jul 04, 2015 1:57 pm
Looks a strong 19 that Chezzie has selected this week. Who to leave out is a dilemma but a good position to be in.

I am a big fan of Kieran Dixon, but his mistakes led directly and indirectly to the first 2 Salford tries. After his 4th howler at FB, Kieran Dixons head visibly dropped. This happened earlier in the year also after which he was dropped or benched. Dixon subsequently came back stronger. Charlie was altogether more reassuring at full back against Salford and I think Chris Chester made a good call in swapping them positionally.

Sio will go to right wing, Boudebza to starting hooker or bench hooker, McCarthy to loose forward, Puletua to prop. Tilse, Green, Burke and Lunt or Boudebza on the bench.

I hope CC gambles and plays Dixon at full back this week for his strike capability and Larroyer at second row right side to counter Wardle, Murphy, Brough.

Cockayne and Ollett to miss out.

Have to play Dixon, not many would've caught the bombs Dobson was putting up in the last game. He kicked them in such a way that the ball almost went dead in flight in order for the wind to make it very awkward to catch. Dixon is lightning in attack. No one in the division can beat a man one on one as good as he can. The only downside is when he gets tackled he gets driven back most of the time because of his size. He needs to learn to duck an drive through the line like rob burrow has all of his career to make up for his lack of size.

Agreed. That wind contributed to the last Albert Kelly try.

Dixon needs to protect the ball better inside our 20, take the tackle on a lost cause and aim to go to ground earlier in some collisions.

That first try he conceded against Salford from the Paterson ball steal was caused by him needlessly dicking about running laterally. You could see the impending disaster coming a mile off. That sort of play you do when you are chasing the game. We sit behind the posts in the North Stand and prior to the ball steal me and about 20 odd of us around me were shouting out - "WTF is he doing?" There was nowhere to go and nobody to pass to.

Chezzie needs to get in his ear about this and warn him to calm down. I can forgive dropped balls in a swirling wind, especially those that come down with Snow on them like Dobbos the other night.

Dixon won't play if he struggled with dobsons bombs what will happen to him with Danny broughs? For me he is still young and learning maybe keep him on the wing and give Josh a break or welham had a knock at the end on Tuesday if he doesn't make it sio to centre (needs must) think ollett will play for his fresh legs.

This is not a dig by any means, but, was you at the game? If you was then you'd know the wind played a massive part in both teams advantages/disadvantages when kicking. Hell, the wind won us the game in the end...

I was at the game and Dixon made a mess of a lot in the 1st 20 minutes it can't do the other players any good if they are running there blood to water and the same person make 3 or 4 mistakes in the opening 20 minutes and makes the team do a unnecessary extra tackles on there line, and I'm not sure if Chester should have to check if it's going to be windy or not tomorrow before he makes a decision on who to play at full back, and my point being that Danny broughs kicking game is far superior to dobsons,

And for the record I really like Dixon and at the beginning of the season when he couldn't get a game I was on here and other forums crying out for him to get a chance because i know he could be a superstar i just feel danny brought will terrorize him if he starts like he did against salford

Did you get rid of all the voices in your head? Do you now miss them and the things that they said?

The wind didn't have any bearing on the ball steal or knocking on in the tackle on our own 20. Don't get me wrong, I like Dixon but, come on, he had an absolute MARE on Tuesday!!!

Brough's kicking game.

Dixon was man of the match against Huddersfield at home at full back.

He had a mare Tuesday but scored. He's a fantastic talent who has looked rock solid some games. His try against Cas was an amazing catch.

He should start and the bigot on the bench.....He bombed a try Tuesday throwing a pass over Dixon's head. But I doubt Dixon will start.

We'll be tired tomorrow and at risk of injuries. Hope we get through in one piece.

No you are right with everything you say there, can't disagree.

Anyways, tough game today, can't see a victory but hope we keep it tight. I'd fancy us if we hadn't played so many games recently but think they'll have to much in the tank for us today.

We now know walker won't be playing so I reckon it'll be either Dixon or Cockayne to miss out as well. Think it'll be Dixon. He did have a stinker on Tuesday and fatigue may have played a part in that. Ben played well so think chessie will go for that.
