Hull kingston rovers.

Scores within the 80 minutes all count. had a late score still left us 10 or 15 points behind then you may have had a point.

Top quality conditioning and medical work can have a major impact on injury prevention as well as shortened recovery times. The Giants are very good in this area.

Allgood and Campese have both had extended spells out of the NRL with injuries. These are often red flags for many clubs.

Our game is the richer for having Brough and Campese in it.

Hope you guys win the Challenge Cup !

Appreciated. :thumb:

Brough is a talent, but when he gets his easily wound up frowning face on the rest of the team are there for the taking ......I think this is what separates the actual contenders from the wannabes .....Not to worry, us outsiders are slowly but surely and year after year closing the gap on the the big three that have dominated our game for the previous decade.

Are you?

Interesting thought.

"Are you?" ......In what sense? ......Am I a talent that is easily wound up or are we an outsider that is slowly closing the gap? .....If it's the former then no, if it is the latter then I think all of those outside the big three are slowly closing the gap.

Unless you are Danny Brough, the post was pretty clear.

IMO you are no closer than 2009. Hull are further away.

I agree .....What I was alluding to are that the outsiders are generally one man teams (as in the halves), but these one man teams are closing the gap on the big three due to the depth of talent within their squads and the new unstructured way of playing (I say new, but what I really mean is a return to the old manner in which rugby league used to be played) ......We were most successful within 2009 because within that year the players on the field implemented the coach's structured way in which rugby league was deemed to be played the best ......The difference between 2009 and 2015 is that in 2009 the game was deemed to be a game of chess between the two coaches, whereas in 2015 the players have more freedom to act upon their own individual talent, which is more comparable to the game of yesteryear .....In my honest opinion, Justin Morgan ruined the natural talent of Michael Dobson because he forced him to play his game of chess and didn't encourage Dobbo's natural talent for the game (Morgan would have never considered signing Albert Kelly because he would have been deemed too volatile to fit in within his oh so structured game plan) ......Whereas now, the likes of Kelly, Campese, Dixon and the rest of the team are encouraged to play the game in a manner in which made them stand out when they were mere whipper snappers ......It now seems that the game is won by reacting to what goes on in 80 minutes instead of being won by implementing the chess moves of the coach in the training sessions .....Which is why I think the gap is now closing and the reason why the "outsiders" have more of a chance of winning silverware.

In truth, I kind of do agree with you that the superleague is much tighter in general. So I guess that maybe you ARE closer than before (I think you have a "potentially" very good team if you can stay injury free)
The reality for all the outsiders though is getting over the edge and winning something. Generally just does not happen.
