I was talking to a former referee a few weeks ago and Steve Gansons name came in to the conversation this guy told me that he had been acting as fourth official at one game and Ganson came off at half time and asked him "How many penalties have I given" the guy told him he did not know he hadn't counted he was told " next time you are at a game with me please ensure you count " he asked him why and that the answer was he didn't want to give too many to one side and he could even it up second half to make it look like he was being fare to both teams
