walker is the only prop you have who puts in a decent shift in both attack and defence. The others don't offer anywhere near enough for a SL club

As individuals they have strengths and weaknesses, but I agree, as a group they aren't offering enough. Goes for much of the team tbf.

One of the things that has impressed me about Hull this year is that, from what I've seen, Bowden and Chris Green look the part. We knew Taylor is good player, and that Watts is talented - but if we'd have signed either of JB or CG, I'd not have been impressed. A few hull fans were concerned about the imbalance between back and front row too, iirc.

As Dave K has pointed out previously, using quota spots on steady props is a waste.

Bowden seems to have come on really well this season from what I've seen but Green is average IMO our props with the exception of Walker have all underperformed

I'm not saying they're brilliant, but they're solid, strong and workmanlike. And presumably inexpensive.

Basically, their supporting cast is outperforming our leading actors.

It just shows that a good pre-season and recruitment around them can take players to a higher level.

Just as a rubbish pre-season and mainly signing 'potential', leads to underperformance. If that's compounded by injuries, you're in the doo-do. In the short-term at least, but the short-term is when relegation can happen.

green is probably the least effective and you need to include thompson in the group too. green just doesn't do enough work for me. Isn't on the field long enough for me so not sure if it's a fitness issue.

The other good thing at Hull this year is if you drop your levels you're out of the team which keeps everyone on their toes

Having a lot of leaders in your pack will help your young forwards I just think Green has been given plenty of chances and will probably be overtaken in the next couple of years

Your overall use of quota players is awful, average props, using two on wingers and two injury prone halfs.

Blair is good as a backrowers also.

5 years your overseas recruitment was the best in the league, in terms of value for money, it must be the worst.

Big changes needed next year.

In a team like Rovers Ken Sio is too good to play on the wing.

Sio and mantallato have been standout players so you can't say it's a waste Blair has carried the team this year Kelly great last year rubbish this year been disappointed with Allgood and Tilse hasn't been great Campese was a risk that hasn't paid off yet
