I understand what your saying, but your only target next season would be to win the league which as it stands dont win you promotion which it should.

I'm not disagreeing with you on that. I would have no problem with top goes up and bottom goes down. I can also see the merits of the current system, in that it tries to make sure that a club promoted are ready for SL, which I think Leigh now are, but maybe wouldn't have been if they had gone up last season. We will never know whether they would have been ready this season or not though, thats just me speculating. My post was more frustration at Cockayne making it sound that players were hard done by if they get relegated. He does have valid points, but I don't see why sportsmen/women should be immune to the 'real world'. That was more the point I was trying to get across.

I hope Sa'u isn't on the wing. He's not a winger in a gazillion years, his positional play is appalling!!

    I'd go with:

    1. O'Brien
    2. Evalds
    3. J.Griffin
    4. Sa'u
    5. Johnson
    6. Lui
    7. Dobson
    8. Kopczak
    9. Tomkins
    10. G.Griffin
    11. Masila
    12. Jones
    13. Flanagan
    ----------------------
    14. Kenny
    15. Burgess
    16. Hauraki
    17. Krasniqi

Strange that on paper salford have better players and if you had the pick of both teams you'd definitely take more of theirs than rovers but there is definitely something missing over theirs. I still think that you'll win quite comfortably on saturday and can see their heads going down if you score early on

Hull KR average attendance in 2016 - 7684, highest 11,050

Now, I'm not exactly a maths professor, but these figures show it's more than just a 'hypothetical guess', as you put it.

That doesn't really tell the whole story though does it?

Salford's average attendance before the 6 point deduction was higher then the figure you stated. Who's to say that if we didn't get the deduction that our crowds wouldn't of maintained if not increased as we'd be in the top 8.

Leigh's highest attendance was a game where it was free admission! This will obviously boost their average as that crowd was probably nearly 3 times bigger then normal. What was their average before this game?

Leigh's average will have been inflated. Don't know the average before the Batley game, but the minimum against teams like Workington, Haven etc... (no disrespect, but the teams who didn't bring many fans and an easy victory was expected) was between 3-3,500. Then 5k against Bradford and nearly 6k against huddersfield, with 4k against the likes of Fax, Fev and London. Would expect a core of 4k home fans next year, and hopefully that can continue to grow as it has done for the last few years. (Could get a pint far quicker a few years ago!)

As for Salford, I find it strange that people stopped going after the points deduction. You go to watch the team, not the administrators.

2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!

Re: Salford. Death or glory. : Thu Sep 29, 2016 4:14 pm
If you are talking attendances, according to Koukash around 2000 Salford fans are making their way over on Saturday. So taking a line from one of the arguments put forward by Salford fans not attending home games, HKR is easier to get to than Salfords own stadium.

Just as a side note I see you have a Leigh based referee and a Leigh based touch judge for the game. So I guess one set of fans is really going to hate Leigh (if they don't already) by the end of the day seeing as you both lost to Leigh as well.
