I am certain that Julien was not offside.The issue is whether the ball was knocked forward by Bird as he jumped then hit a Huddersfield player and rebounded to Julien . It is not easy to tell. All the Huddersfield fans that I know are certain that it was a try and are not backward about expressing their delight.

We shot ourselves in the foot.
From 18-0 and 24-6, we should not be losing. With a minute to go, a point behind and a set of six in the opponent's 10-metre area, you have time to have three or four cracks at the line and if that doesn't come off, set for an equalising drop goal. Instead, Bird went looking for a penalty that wasn't forthcoming. Idiocy.
The damage was done late in the first half, though. I don't know if we switched off mentally or anything, but it sure looked like it. Adam O'Brien poaching one from dummy half should have been cut out and from there the momentum shifted in their direction. They came out second half with a different mindset and we looked a bit stuck between sticking and twisting. We were poor in that second half and it shouldn't be acceptable.

McNamara is a problem and we're not getting the best out of Bird at the moment. I've not seen enough to say whether he's done or just not getting involved enough, but it's certainly a question that's lingering in my mind.
