In the build up to the 40th Rugby League Varsity Match in 2020, Oxford and Cambridge rugby league clubs have announced an exclusive membership package called Oxbridge 40:20.
Oxbridge 40:20 enables members to access offers previously made only to students and Old Boys of the two clubs; provides tables at the Varsity Match and tables at the 40th Anniversary Gala Dinner, to be held after Varsity 2020.
Members will also be welcome to attend drinks receptions with Old Boys held by the Clubs at the start of each season and will receive space in programmes, recognition and promotion to all members and Old Boys.
Open to organisations and individuals, membership of Oxbridge 40:20 is £2000 per annum and UK residents can apply gift-aid; with monies used to promote and support rugby league players whilst studying at Oxbridge.
Rugby League Varsity Match Director and former Cambridge player Mark Ramsdale said "the clubs and I are very pleased to announce this membership package in the build up to Varsity 2020. I am sure those who first took to field in 1981 to play a sport not associated with Oxbridge absolutely saw the Rugby League Varsity Match growing and continuing to prosper. This is one way we can welcome more people into Oxbridge rugby league, develop the sport at the two universities, and provide those involved with something tangible for their support."
The Rugby League Varsity Match takes place on the first Friday of March each year and since 2013 has been played at the Honourable Artillery Company in central London. For more information, and to see a video of the day, see www.rlvarsity.com.
