well unless he doesn't have a contract yet for next year, and we've told him we won't renew, I don't see how he won't have a choice in the matter.

I was meaning he only had a contract for next season and IF he's already been told that next year is his last with Leeds someone like say Salford or Bradford may have dangled a 2/3 year contract in front of him and players coming to the end of their careers at a certain club need to consider the financial merits of having a longer contract, so who knows.

Maybe someone has asked Leeds about his availability and maybe Leeds are prepared to listen to offers/ release him from his last year of hiscontravt to free up cap money for other positions???

Hopefully there's nothing in it as I would like to see Matt finish his career at Leeds but eveyone has their shelf live as they say

It was inevitable, that at his stage in his career there would be offers from other clubs, and as the lad says, big decisions will have to be made.

I would'nt be surprised especially as they gave Buderus another yr.
In all honesty i'd look to keep him he's got at least another 3/4yrs left in the tank and i think it'd be a mistake if the club sacrifice that for 1 more yr from Buderus.

It would be a shame to lose Matt but I do feel we need freshening up a bit. Maybe this rumour has something to do with his off season surgery rather than a contract offer from a rival?

I'll break the thread theme and say I would be delighted if this was true.

This is exactly the sort of change that should have been made already for next year, so a very nice step forward if true IMO.
