A sponsored walk to raise money for the Steve Prescott Foundation will take place on Sunday 2nd October. It will go from the Premier Inn in Warrington town centre to the Imperial Bar in St Helens, which is a distance of around 10 miles. It is hoped that a number of familiar faces will be walking and fans are invited to take part, get sponsored and wear their colours. It's basically a celebration of how rugby league fans can come together like very few other sports and raise money for a cause much more important than sporting rivalry. To get involved, e-mail thescarletgooseberry@yahoo.co.uk or 'like' the facebook page for the walk, which is at www.facebook.com/thescarletgooseberrystroll. I'm also available to be contacted on twitter (@TSGooseberry).

The walk will be the last leg of a 200 mile walk that I'll be doing, which will go from St Helens in Swansea to St Helens in Merseyside. I'll be starting on Sunday 25th September, so will have completed around the two hundred miles in eight days by the time I reach St Helens. The first leg will go from Swansea to Aberdare on Sunday 25th September. If anyone in south Wales fancies getting sponsored and walking along with me on that first leg then you would be welcomed with open arms!

As a Wigan fan, people have asked why I'm going from St Helens to St Helens. That is to highlight that we can overcome sporting rivalry for a greater cause. I'm Welsh and have lived in and around Salford for the last few years so I know that together, we can make a huge difference for this great charity.

If you'd like to join the Warrington to St Helens leg then please get in touch. To donate to the walk, you can do so at www.justgiving.com/scarletgooseberry or by texting TSGS49 followed by £5 or £10 to 70070.

Thanks!

 | In an attempt to keep this post toward the top of the forum, can anyone suggest any walking related songs to keep me entertained on the 200 mile stroll?

I'll start with Walk On By by Dionne Warwick - obvious but good.

Excellent use of yahoogle, cheers! However, I can't help but think that many listens to You'll Never Walk Alone might be slightly torturous, though.

 | Incidentally, there are rumours that Sky Sports News will be covering the walk. Which begs the question, who is your favourite SSN girl of all time?

For me, they never replaced Di Stewart.

 | What time will the walk be taking place? As October 2nd is the Championship and Championship 1 Grand Final day so this might reduce numbers from non SL fans and a few SL fans too. I certainly will be watching and attending the championship GF regardless of who gets there.
