it was said tonight that you can make a try if you slow it down enough and tonight was proof, I would be more concerned with the fox try I didn't see the ball at all on the screen

The HKR player somehow managed to keep his hand in contact with the ball untill he completely lost control after the ball had gone to ground.
Would it have been a try if there wasn't a video ref? - No
Should it have been a try if the spirit of the law was taken into account? - No
Did the exact wording of the law give the VR any other decision other than awarding a try? - No
Should the law be made to clearer to ensure that players are in control when grounding the ball? - Yes
Will that happen? - Well, we all know how many "sensible" folk are at the RFL so obviously nothing will change!
