Hi I'm hoping someone can help me out here with some information on the above



I got the (or one of) signed match ball from this game for Xmas and I'm wanting to frame it but before I do I was hoping I could get hold of a press report and / or pictures from the game.

I contacted the HDM and they've said all their archive material has gone to the heritage centre so I need the exact date of the match to get the info. I know it was in 1982 but I dont know what date and the usual sources google etc havent turned it up.

Can anyone help?

I think you can get this stuff from central library in town. I checked out a game my granddad played in from 1950 .They had the HDM write up and a team photo and you could get photocopies from there also. This was a while ago though so things could well have changed by now

I reckon a lot of the players would have been nursing significant hangovers for big Keiths game.

Didn't Fred Lindop ref and even took a kick at goal late in the game?

Keith seemed to have such fragile legs but always gave his all and had a fair turn of speed on his day, remember his 2 long range efforts against York in the cup. I don't remember anything of the benefit match but being only 13 I wasn't nursing a hangover from the Saturday as I was only allowed a couple of cans on the coach home

Again you're right. His comeback game was against Bradford at Odsal, may have been a cup game. In the pre match the then Bradford coach Peter Fox said Tindall would be "As weak as a kitten".

That's why he scored two tries then Peter.
