Im sure there are a number who subscribe to this site sat inside wishing it would just pass by whilst the rest of the country celebrate the history and greatness of this fabulous nation.

Lets celebrate the days when we ruled the world not just influenced it like today.

It's a bloody good job that the Russians and Yanks joined us to defeat Hitler.

The loss of life was staggering, on all sides, and this is what should be remembered and avoided in the future.

How about we celebrate the bravery and sacrifice of the millions of people who fought to liberate Europe from the abomination of the Nazis, and mourn the loss of the millions of innocent people who died at their hand?

Celebrating world domination sounds like something the Nazis would do.

Bombers, Spitfires, Red Arrows flying over makes most British people proud to live in this marvellous country.

Union Jack bunting fluttering in the wind, Street parties, sun beating down........... What a fantastic country we live in.

Is VE Day not the day when Britain effectively gave up ruling the world and sold it off to America .

I know it took them another 3 decades for that to sink in .

It probably is still sinking in for you
