In Italy is so bad that being convicted in an Italian court is not taken very seriously. It is only sfter the second or so appeal that you finally think someones conviction is accepted. An absolutely SUPERB book detailing how bad the Police and Judiciary in Italy is this one. http://www.monsterofflorence.co.uk/ One of the key investigators of enormous incompetence was the magistrate responsible for investigating Knox. He is the same person who arrested the authors of this book and tried to charge them with being serial killers solely on the grounds that because they were writing a book and knew so much about the case that they must be the killers No matter how much you would suspect a certain person the failings in investigations, poor quality collection of forensic evidence, not following up leads and corruption make it highly unlikely you can get a conviction beyond reasonable doubt( certainly not the standard of proof in the UK). Whilst Knox is an oddball who happened to like tutti frutti rather than Vanilla in the bedroom she is slated for it and that was used to smear her. Couples being murdered in cars/the 1970's!!!! I am reading Zodiac unmasked at the moment and this sounds similar. It will be right up my alley. cheers |
