A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.

When you rescue a dog, you gain a heart for life.

Handle every situation like a dog. If you can't Eat it or Chew it. Pee on it and Walk Away.

Just don't get caught on Burgh Island :D

We went to South Devon in June and we visited Bigbury, Salcombe, Plymouth, Dartmoor and Torquay, the latter was more to say I've been and I've never seen a place with so many zimmer frames

There is a small village on Dartmoor called Widdecombe on the Moor which was very pretty. If you go to Plymouth try and eat at Capn Jaspers on the front. You have a choice of half a yard or a yard of hotdog.

Salcombe was lovely. We took the dogs on the beach around from the bay first, then drove to the main village (a lot of people walk) and had a superb pub lunch.

Advice is what we seek when we already know the answer - but wish we didn't

I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full-frontal lobotomy

At those prices?

£19.25 for a crab?

I bought two lobsters and three crabs for that a couple of weeks ago

Lyme Regis is close and all bars and restaurants there are a rip-off. Mark Hix has a place at West Bay (Bridport) but if you do go to Beer, see Cyril's brother (skipper of Blue Lady) and buy your shellfish & fish from him. Cheap as chips.

I've no idea whether Hugh Fernley-Fishingstall has re-opened the Canteen in Axminster yet, following a fire last year

We stayed in Torquay a couple of nights as the wife wanted to show the kids one of the places she holidayed in when she was a kid herself. There is a country park a couple of miles away where she also spent many hours as a child, Cockington, and it is well worth a visit. If people are into their crafts there are some genuine artisans making stuff in the craft centre (not people who bought a "how to make a tacky jewellery kit").

Salcombe was lovely. We took the dogs on the beach around from the bay first, then drove to the main village (a lot of people walk) and had a superb pub lunch.

Yes Salcombe is very nice. Brixham which I mentioned previously has a pebble beach just next to the breakwater in the harbour and there is a cafe that does the usual takeaway burgers and stuff by my wife said the crab salad was one of the best she had had while we had been away. Not expensive either if I recall correctly.

Its alright you lot talking about bloody holidays, I've still got 20 days to take this year and only October and November to take them in, AND I'll never agree with this bloody woman as to where we should go, I'm sort of resigned to losing those holiday and just continuing on this 12/14 treadmill until three days off at christmas
