Great news for the city, lets hope it drives on to bringing a better city centre for one, I go to Liverpool regular and the city centre and dock area is vibrant 7 days a week, Hull centre on a Saturday is like a ghost town unless you go to St Stephens.

I am waiting for Look North to interview the usual 18 year old single mother of 5 from Orchard Park in Victoria Square on her reaction, instead of picking someone who is a bit more articulate.

Leicester's mayor Sir Peter Soulsby said he was surprised and disappointed at the result.

"I can only guess that Hull desperately needed a shot in the arm while the judges decided we in Leicester are making our way successfully and didn’t need it as much," he said.
