I bet you weren't slagging her when her and her government sold off the council houses you live in, especially when some of your mates sold them on for a tidy profit. cheers maggie
And laid the basis for the current housing crisis, record levels of homelessness and the basis for a nation built on housing debt and little else.
But apart from that the policies on housing were fine
I can certainly say I had no liking for Thatcher or any of her policies regardless on her views on council houses, even those used by her friend in Westminster to gerrymander the elections. It’s a shame the money from house sales went to central government rather than the local authorities who built them. It became obvious why she was known as Margaret Thatcher milk snatcher.
It did not stop you buying one though did it unless of course your still a council tenant, I can to a point understand your bitterness towards the Tory party as like a lot on this board grew up having Labour rammed down your throat, and because your parents and their parents voted Labour you feel the need to do the same out of false loyalty, but are you that desperate to bring up things from 40 plus years ago because having trotted out the same old, same old stuff about Boris your quickly running out of material, you need to seek help squire and get a life, go on liberate yourself you'll feel better for it, concentrate on Wakefield Trinity and how you can help them, give Michael Carter a ring and offer him some help and advice, far more satisfying and rewarding than trying to put the world to rights on here
I cannot believe I have another who thinks they know the person I am. I am not a council tenant and I did not buy it from them either just to correct your initial assumptions. The reason I despised Thatcher I also worked out myself when I came across her work to stop the young by increasing the A level threshold which meant despite two years of hard work their results were lower and they struggled to enter university. I drag up something from so long ago because it was a sign of the person she was by taking the 1/3 pint of milk provided at school. With regards Boris he is just the leader who keeps on giving the latest being money spent on unnecessary paintings. He is happy to approve a boat costing 250m + but doesn’t like funding children’s meals. The sleaze will continue to grow and once the shadow of the pandemic recedes people will finally start to take notice. I look forward to those so called red wall Conservatives going out to the destroyed mining towns to explain his pre planned joke about how they were sacrificed for the planet earth.

You seriously need to get a life, quick question do you live anywhere near Neil Fox way by any chance?
Never mind trying to identify who may be posting. Is Thatcher really the Grandmother of the green revolution, I dont think so and is the current self serving PM actually bothered about genuine "green" policies ? The real issue here is the number of people on the planet and the consumption of those billions, which is the polar opposite of the capitalist ideals that most of the world follows. Things will certainly get interesting over the next century or so and whilst we will all of departed the planet by then, there should be some thought on how "we" leave the place for future generations.

Probably not, just like you aren't really, you both seem to have something in common, like hearing the sound of your own voice, Fine sentiments though on leaving a legacy for future generations.

Do you think that Thatcher was the "Grandmother" of green policies ? Ironically, had coal mining still been a major factor in our energy generation policy, we would have had to look at a change before now. It's gall of Bojo in trying to make political gain out of such a crass, thoughtless comment that provokes comment. Johnson is indeed a poor mans Trump, deliberately trying to cause some outrage but, unlike Trump, I dont think that he has any grand plan. I was no fan of Trump but, I do believe that he's a very good negotiator, not sure that Bojo is in the same league.

Do you ask that because her dad had a green grocers shop? and I'm not sure how you've managed to slip old Trumpy into it, was he a master of political gain in this country, is it that what irks you so much just because Starmer and his band of misfits can't pilac the good old British public like Boris can.
Talk about re writing history. Our "beloved leader" is now suggesting that Maggie closed the pits to give the UK a head start on becoming a "green" economy. What an absolute tool this man is and I sincerely hope that the "red wall" voters are proud of getting the buffoon elected.
Ironically, 40 years on, there would have needed to be a move away energy generated from coal. However, did this government not just allow a new open cast coal mine in Cumbria:
