Following world major leaders "plural" who are these people?
Biden, the EU, Germany and France have been the leaders, setting policy, co-ordinating sanctions and directing the world's attention.

One of the biggest and most notable developments is the cohesion of the EU. As one of the twin guarantors of peace across Europe, alongside NATO, since World War 2, its original strengths are shining through with endangered countries looking to join and a strong, co-ordinated, response to both Russia's aggression and to the refugee crisis.

All of which has only served to make Britain look even weaker and less important. And, of course, a quick look at the people who were most anti-EU reveals they are and were also most often pro-Putin. How's Nigel Farrige getting on right now, still busy trying to execute that 360 degree turn away from Putin's embrace?

Given Putin has now shutdown all independent media, leaving journalists having to flee the country, has jailed the leader of the opposition for criticising him and is arresting people in their thousands for peaceful protest. It’s a fair bet that the state controlled Russia Today is propaganda.

Every reason he’s given to justify the invasion makes no sense. They’re already bordered by NATO countries and Ukraine haven’t even joined. They’re already bordered by EU countries. The supposed attacks on russain speakers in the Donbass region were so bad that people there have been on the streets blocking Russian conveys and telling their soldiers to go home.

There’s enough video evidence on social media of captured Russian soldiers who have no clue why they’re there as even they’ve been lied to.

Of course they are. Putin is everything they want in their leader. Authoritarian, hyper nationalist, anti environmentalist, and anti EU with draconian social policies.

I'd love to psychoanalyse the insecurities that drive people to admire someone like that. But let's not be unkind.

Hasn't Putin learnt anything?
He needs to jazz things up a little bit.
If he wants to gain any sort of legitimacy he needs to start throwing about a few slogans like, 'The War on Terror', or 'WMD's'.
Easy innit.

The news here does have a slight bias against Russia but, the output from Russia is pure propaganda, quite increddible in this day and age

'NATO aggression' and 'NATO expansion' are the Russian equivalent of WMDs in Iraq. Both are nonsense.

Re: Ukraine : Thu Mar 03, 2022 5:03 pm
This situation is a total and utter failure of Western leadership and Diplomacy
The arrogance and chest thumping of the west in totally dismissing Russia’s legitimate security concerns
There was no way President Putin would allow the second largest country in Europe to be stuffed full of American nukes and cruise missiles. Have you seen the length of the Ukraine border with Russia?

Sadly the Ukraine people are now understanding the internationally accepted American definitions of terms such as “collateral damage” and “enemy combatant” , derived to legitimise American and UK atrocities in the likes of Vietnam, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, etc.
The ICC is an American joke.

Unlike the American and UK imperialistic Illegal invasion of Iraq WMD lies , Russia has found WMD’s nukes in Ukraine.

And I don’t see the Donald Rumsfeld levels of Shock and Awe inflicted on the civilian population of Baghdad?, nor any sightings of the “Mother of all Bombs” dropped with impunity on the brown skinned populations of Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan :D

This is creeping to a nuclear WW3
