Plant "death" is different than animal or human death. Plants eat, drink, grow and respond to stimuli, but they do not have a central nervous system. Nor do they have blood. According to scripture only organisms with blood in them are "alive".

“For the life of the flesh is in the blood…” Leviticus 17:11

Plants do not die in the biblical sense of the word, because they are not "alive" in the biblical sense.

Humans and animals also posses a state of consciousness that plants can not. The Hebrew word "nephesh" is the word used in the Bible for consciousness. Nephesh is only used in application to man and animals. Plants are not conscious creatures.

Sin brought death to man and animals only. Plants do not truly die in the sense that humans and animals do.

So you are telling me now that Humans and Animals are ‘conscious’ in the same way?

I started on-topic and was dragged off-topic by questions posed to me by others.

Animals are conscious in that they are sentient beings that can make decisions.

There's no evidence however to suggest that they have a soul or a spirit which is taken on into the next life.

Invite Jesus into my heart? what are you on about. Like much that is spouted by Religious people its just all wishy washy rubbish.

As for showing me the bible. How is a multi translated book of Chinese whispers, originally written by goat herders over many centuries in a time when we didn't know any better, classed as piece of evidence?

I've just bought my nephew the complete Mr Men book series, doesn't mean there was ever a round blue guy covered in bandages walking around, with an orange pal with very long arms who loves a bit of a tickle.

Species of ape?

Humans are a species of ape, something that biologists realised long before the theory of evolution by natural selection had been formulated.

Death entered the world following man's rebellion against God.

The evidence shows that humans have been on this planet for 100-200 thousand years and life has been around for over 3.5 billion years. Death predates the existence the existence of humans regardless of what your book of myths has to say on the subject.

There is conclusive evidence for those who accept the Holy Spirit.

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." Matthew 7:7

This is confirmation bias, If you start from the position that the bible is true and seek to prove your original position then you are likely to ignore evidence to the contrary and only find "evidence" which supports your original position.

As a consequence if you begin with the conclusion that something is true and then seek evidence to support this view then you will usually arrive at the conclusion that your initial position is correct. This does not however show that your initial position is correct.

It's not wishy washy rubbish. You need to be truly open to the idea in order to be in a position to accept it.

As for showing me the bible. How is a multi translated book of Chinese whispers, originally written by goat herders over many centuries in a time when we didn't know any better, classed as piece of evidence?

How do you know they were goat herders? And if they were, why does that even matter?

I've just bought my nephew the complete Mr Men book series, doesn't mean there was ever a round blue guy covered in bandages walking around, with an orange pal with very long arms who loves a bit of a tickle.

No it doesn't, but you can't experience the same level of personal relationship with a fictional character than you can with Jesus.

Humans are humans, unless, of course, you can show me a human who isn't a human?

I don't know how long humans or any life has been around, though obviously animals and plants are slightly older than mankind.

This is confirmation bias, If you start from the position that the bible is true and seek to prove your original position then you are likely to ignore evidence to the contrary and only find "evidence" which supports your original position.

I used to be a non-believer and was fascinated with the arguments put forward by the likes of Sagan and Dawkins. My born again experience occurred AFTER hearing all the supposed evidence to the contrary.

As a consequence if you begin with the conclusion that something is true and then seek evidence to support this view then you will usually arrive at the conclusion that your initial position is correct. This does not however show that your initial position is correct.

The Holy Spirit drew me closer to God and then I learned more about Jesus and was born again. Call the work of the Spirit what you want.
