However, when our Prime Minister is in talks with other world leaders, it's important that they not only know their stuff and fight our corner but, that they also appear statesman like.
I am fairly confident other countries & world leaders are not as class obsessed & snobbish as we in the UK. They will very quickly pick up the quality of a person from their character rather than their suit. I am sure Angela Merkel only got where she has today by her keen eye on the latest fashion trends and her Imelda Marcos like shoe collection.

She may not have the Marcos shoe collection but, neither is she trying to look like Citizen Smith. Even Major was ridiculed for being "grey" and he came from the "tory middle class"
Even Corbyn will have people "looking after" his image and to pretend otherwise is extremely naïve.
Merkel has been a very sharp and measured politician and with the best part of 20 years as leader of her party, there is no doubt that she is an excellent leader of both party and country, although she does appear to be reaching the end of the line.
Moving on, the talk seems to be of a snap General Election which will necessarily mean putting forward candidates for The European Elections and stumping up a huge wedge to the EU, which isn't going to go down to well with the ERG.

What the bloody hell are you on about, Citizen Smith?! He wears a suit at work like every other politician; and when he's door-stepped, he wears civvies like a normal person - which seems funny when it's Boris Johnson, but is somehow an indicator of Corbyn's lack of credibility?
As for being sharp for 20 years - I see Corbyn being on the right side of the majority of big issues in his long career as a politician; I'll take that over a Gucci suit any day of the week.

Love this posting, you are the biggest snob, class warrior on this site. Anybody who posts anything on here not to your liking is insulted by you on a regular basis. The usual tired stereotype bilge, daily mail reader, sun reader, racist, xenophobe etc, nut job etc. ref Merkel ,would that be the same Merkel that without consulting the German population let a million migrants into Germany. None of which show any interest in intergrating with the general population.

At the moment, democracy in the UK provides an intelligent, well read individual with one vote and an idiot who gets their information from the Murdoch press with one vote. So, could there be a case for ensuring people had to pass a written exam before they were allowed to vote?
