He said that Sabbath observance was not a duty that mankind owed to God. Rather, God made the Sabbath as a day of rest for mankind's benefit. If mankind wishes to use this day to play, coach or enjoy rugby league then that is their prerogative. I go to church on Sundays but I also enjoy the odd game of RL. There is nothing hypocritical about that.

May I ask why youre persisting in this?

You've promoted your campaign and no doubt got a few click throughs but this all seems to be very much the seed that fell on the rocky ground now.

Perhaps if you feel that you need to preach it might be better to find a more fertile field?

I suspect there's an element of feeling rather good about preaching at the ignorant and sinful plebs. And the response makes it, as I suggested, a little like martyrdom.

'Dear God – I went out and preached your word, but it fell on stony ground and I was abused for you.'

Of course, it'll also be something to share at church.

I only wanted to promote my campign, not get dragged into a debate.

However when the questions and false accusations came flying in I considered it my Christian duty to give a reason for the hope that I have. (1 Peter 3:15)

I will no longer contribute to this thread. However if anyone has any serious questions about this campaign or my faith they are free to PM me.

So, you want to run a campaign but not have the purpose of that campaign debated, how very like the Catholic church you are in your personal standards of freedom towards others.

Spend your time doing something concrete and positive, not having imaginary begging sessions with incorporeal beings.

Nothing personal, but there is no mileage in debating with a person who is not amenable to reason, evidence, facts, science and logic, but has been brainwashed into a set of beliefs based on nothing at all, and to whom, any contrary suggestion against their belief system is simply anathema.

Me? I'd consider any evidence of gods, afterlifes, hells, heavens, whatever, it is just that there is none to consider. And your problem is you would say that there never will or can be, you just "have to believe". Irrational and unscientific beliefs are of no value to me.
