It is just me that feels like Max Payne is one long cut scene spelled with a bit of game play?

The level of production is superb and the game play is good when you're at it. But it is just annoying watching a cut scene for 8 minutes before playing for 5.

Anyone getting the new Ghost Recon? I loved the old ones. Different to normal shooters in that you can't get riddled with bullets and survive. A couple of bullets and your dead. Wonder if its the same with this one?

Yep, I've got it. Currently playing through the campaign in 4 player co-op with a few mates and it's really good fun. The emphasis is on stealth, using camo to sneak amongst guards and then use a 'sync shot' technique to take out multiple guys at the same time.
A lot of missions are an instant fail if you get spotted, but it's a good laugh if playing with mates and someone keeps making a mistake

The game probably wouldn't be much fun on your own, but if you know a few people you can play through co-op with then I would definitely recommend it.

Have you played Metal Gear solid 4? Each cut scene is between 20-90 mins. I'm sure the last cut scene is nearly 2 hours long.

I've just finished the first act on MP3, and its brilliantly done, as has become the norm with Rockstar games. I started it on hard and its a lot harder than any rockstar game I've played in a while.

E3 starts next week, should be tons of new info for us to take in.
For anyone interested, the Microsoft conference will be streamed live at 5:30pm uk time on Monday with several other streams following after that. For anyone mental/hardcore enough to do it, the Sony stream is set to start at 2am uk time Tuesday morning

Check the obvious sites for live streams (Gamespot, IGN, Gametrailers etc.)

Temptation, greets you like your naughty mate,
The one that used to get you in bother,
But one that you could never bring yourself to hate.

The length of cut scene gripe is a fair one and one that some gamers were obviously going to object to. As i said, for me, the casual gamer, I think it's excellent. It's almost a little reward for completing each bit. The story is gripping, which is honestly the first time I've thought that about a video game. (P.S. Heavy Rain? Any good?).

I'm in the slums of Sau Poalo now with a shaven head and a bad taste shirt. Playing it on easy (as I say, no time to get too challenged by it!) and finding it quite easy to plough through the numerous baddies that are coming at me.) The set piece scenes (my favourite on the New Jersey level) with the bullet time are also superbly done.

I can see the game becoming samey after a while, hope there's another boss coming up, only one of those to speak of so far that I can remember.

MP3 is great - the dialogue is superb and the gameplay flows very well.

RE: the cutscenes, you can skip them after they've "loaded" but then you don't really feel as immersed as you do after watching them.

And I agree about the sameyness, although I'm on chapter XI (I think, the bit with the run-down hotel anyway) and I still feel compelled to finish the story so it's not lost its edge on me yet. Can't see me picking it up again after completing the story though.

Watching Nintendo?

If they make a 'proper' console Pokemon game, I'll get one.

I hope Microsoft show us a next gen console, Wii U doesn't count.

Just think December 2013, Xbox 3, Fifa 14 Next Gen, Full HD

Got a feeling that their conference will be Gears of War and Halo 4 and another Forza, maybe a show steal with GTA V Exclusive DLC (I doubt this game will be at E3).

Sony will just do Vita stuff I imagine, maybe a few surprises. I'm ready for a new console though.

A new console won't help the lack of quality gaming from developers. I'm not bored of my PS3; I'm bored of playing CoD8, FF13 and all the other sequels. I keep on saying, consoles could do with a high quality MMO game, something that can take the community by storm, but devs are too happy to churn out the same old stuff.
