100% hindsight reads, and smells, like the rotting corpse of socialism. Thank fook we will not see a Labour government for 30 years.

You want proper journalism. You're not surprised Johnson dodged a proper journalist. You're not happy with the journalism from others. Do you want scrutiny or not? Are you one of these who champions democracy, just as long as difficult questions aren't asked of it? I'm struggling to see what you want from journalism. Maybe Johnson can write his own questions to be asked of him?

I am more than happy with the democracy and journalists however sub standard they may be. I am trying to make the point that a section are pursuing a vendetta towards Johnson .One of the reasons is because he abandoned Cameron and joined the leave Brexit campaign along with Cummings, he was without doubt The reason we left the EU . The metropolitan elite and establishment hate him for that. Many journalists who have worked alongside Johnson don’t care for him, example, max hastings the author and war corespondent Has frequently called him a liar. Funniest thing was Johnson running first time for London mayor, Livingston laughed out loud at that so called political buffoon. Several year’s down the line he acknowledged that he was confronted and well beaten by an extremely wily opponent.

With Johnson standing by his man, it's getting a whole lot closer than 30 years.
It's almost poetic that Cummings returned "home" to the North East, an area that has recently jumped on the Troy bandwagon.

They say that "we" get the government that we deserve and certainly you deserve this lot.
We have an unelected advisor running the show and any half decent PM with a pair of balls would have got rid, to help preserve the party and it's standing but, Boris has "gambled everything on black".
There are plenty of murmurs of dissent from within the Tory ranks and if a couple of senior Tory's grow a pair, Cummings will be gone and rightly so.
Lets see if they can grow any.

I think this tweet sums it up.

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

This is same the world over - companies do not treat their star performers in the same way they do the ones that make up the numbers - whatever you say about Cummings he is a winner and has masterminded two very successful campaigns. The Tories will need him big style in 2024.

Ironically, more than ever if he carries on like he has been.
Boris is sure to balls things up some more before he comes to the end of his term and with the inevitable rise in unemployment plus, the certainty of them having to break their triple lock on income tax, NI and VAT, he is sure to be tested further than even Cummings has managed so far.

We'll find out then just how forgiving the UK public actually are.

If Hancock did so well against Preston why was he so quick to cut him off before asking a second question, could it be he did not want to be questioned further about his own circumstances. Your post merely proves my point that you are desperate to latch onto even the smallest hope that the government are doing a good job which of course they are not. The problem is that the government’s failures have resulted in unnecessary deaths and this is something that many will not forget, even if you try to ignore it.
