I don't understand how someone can commit a crime in a country when they aren't there.
That is to say, how can US jurisdiction extend into the UK?

Have I commited a US crime by having visited Cuba?
Can I therefore expect to be extradited?

He should have stood trial in this country ages ago and, if found guilty, banged up for eons.

Because the US likes to think it has ownage of the entire intertubes.

Similarly, see suggestions from some that Julian Assange should be tried in the US for treason. Bonkers. The internet one is a more plausible argument, it would seem, if massively more complex.

What if you launched your ICBM from your underground mountain lair in Iceland, and wiped out Milton Keynes? If we assume that doing so would be an offence, then I imagine if passing through the UK you may well get yer collar felt.

Why didn't the US, UK and Swedish governments simply conspire to get these men sent to Sweden on trumped-up charges? According to clear facts presented on another thread, their feet wouldn't have touched the ground in Stockholm before they would have been put on a CIA plane bound for Guantanamo Bay. We could have got rid of them years ago.

The trials were conducted by the International Military Tribunal, and certainly not "by Germany", so their venue, while symbolic, is irrelevant to the point.

If you were arrested in England, you are seriously saying that no charges would be brought, instead you'd possibly be extradited to Iceland for launching a missile without air traffic clearance, or something? Really?
