Just to think many people used to be baffled when tourist from China would take photos of everything. It's all so commonplace now.

I certainly won't be videoing Bruce Springsteen's upcoming performance in Leeds but someone certainly videoed me standing in the queue for tickets :)

Watching some technology show late night on bbc news channel few months back and apple put a feature in that turns cameras off at gigs, soon as you point it at the performers the screen goes blank, a feature all the big companies were pushing for.

Irritating 2@s who have no regard for others when using personal communications devices aren't a new phenomenon. Back in the eraly 90s when I was managing a Merc dealership, I used to host a Christmas lunch for my best customers at the Potters' Club, Stoke. During one such event, one of my customers was annoying the hell out of everyone by continuing to answer one or other of his two mobile phones (this at a time when "free" phones were unheard of and usually cost £800+ and he "needed" two because of the patchy coverage of Vodaphone & Cellnet). I asked him a couple of times to switch them off and was ignored, so told him that the next time it rang, I'd dump it in the wine cooler.

It rang again and was promptly drowned. He hurriedly switched off the other and proceeded to finish his lunch in a sulk. I also sent him a replacement phone the following day.

I think we should have a new Sin Bin game. People give a topic and cod'ead quotes an anecdote. Story time with coddy.

Freedom without Socialism is privilege and injustice.
Socialism without freedom is slavery and brutality.

It's an old bloke thing.
I'm the same myself.

The older you are, if only by virtue of having been around a long time, the more likely you are to have an example.

There should be something like that for phones in cars and cinemas as the amount of people who still use them whilst driving is ridiculous.

Absolutely, IMHO driving a car in a cinema can't possibly be safe.

Maybe, then again due to old age and decrepitude, will you be likely to be able to remember the example?

There are ways of coping.

Only the other day I went upstairs for something but, when I got up there, I couldn't remember what I'd gone for.
So, I sat on the bed until, until, until .... I remembered !! .... I'd gone for my reading glasses.

Trouble was, I then couldn't remember why I needed them.
