Like people who get caught speeding by cameras and then say "they're only money making schemes". Here's another money making scheme:

Don't speed/smoke/litter and the money stays in your pocket.

Never said that and I'm not sure how you got to that from what I typed.

Never gone through a speed camera above the speed limit and then moaned about how it's some else's fault than my own, either.

Thing with speed cameras they're very well known and a few years ago were made to look highly visible to the motorist, its a bit different than some sneaky plain clothed jobsworth leaping out of the shadowing demanding your details and hitting you with a £75 fine for dropping a cig butt.

I agree on visibility, but if you hadn't dropped it in the first place, he wouldn't have needed to leap out.

Why not stub it out on a wall and put in the bin?

There weren't any walls or bins around.

You say you don't speed when you drive through speed cameras because you know the outcome?

What if tonight as you pull up on your drive a big thuggish jobsworth wearing no inform comes up to the side of your vehicle and demands to know your name, address and date of birth as you broke the speed limit?

You were busted dropping some litter. Actually, you weren't busted because the guy gave himself up that he didn't have any evidence of you littering. But you tried to be a clever tvvat and mocked him, and busted yourself with it.

So you call your CID friend trying to get out of it. He can't get you out of it.

You think that the cops are going to come to your rescue, because he's a fake, right??? The cops give you short shrift. They're on his side. You're busted.

So you come on here whining about it, trying to see if there's some way out of it. You get no sympathy, you whine about it.

I'd ask to see his ID, make a note of his name, ask him to prove it and not act the smartarse.

Just to poke the fire a bit:

You said you were 'working' and from the line that suggests it's company policy that you can't smoke in your vehicle, I'll assume that you're an employee rather than self-employed.

Hence, what does your employer make of this, in particular the part where you "made sure you took up as much time of his as possible" at at time when you were suppose to be 'working' (notwithstanding that it may be reasonable for you to take a short refreshment break between jobs)?
