Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

Some Salford fan said to me and I quote "You are by far and away the most Handsome & Knowledgeable Rugby League Fan in England!"

I thanked him and went on my Merry way!

I'll PM you, just to be clear though, to prove what?
You job is harder than mine? You have more pressure to deal with than I do? You earn less than me even though you take all the risks etc. Etc.?
You "Chose" as is your right, to open your business.
Absolutely fine with that, there are rules to business though and I would hope you would agree that it's right that everyone follows them both legally and wherever possible Morally.
I just think that option isnt an option onto realistic to the majority of people no matter how hard they work etc.
So the "I've done it, I work harder than everyone else" argument doesnt stand up.
As for anecdotal, you know you were the one dismissing other peoples observations as "Anecdotal" and you wouldn't accept them because of that. Is it wrong that others do the same, as I pointed out previously.

PS
Just dont make it May 8th, that's the day of my cousins husbands funeral who was the paramedic I talked about.
He obviously just wasnt positive enough.
Anecdotal or not

Not at all - I don't know whether my job is harder than yours or whether I work harder than you that's subjective how do you measure mental contribution compared to physical (I don't know what you do) - its different, at the moment I am not taking a salary which was the point albeit unnecessarily flippant.

I never suggested you were making up the death - I am genuinely sorry for your loss it cannot be easy for anyone in these times.

Stupid media overreaction for this weekend: Dominic Cummings attended some SAGE meetings.

Or let's put it another way: the Prime Minister's Chief Adviser attended critical SAGE pandemic meetings.

Labour said Cummings had "no place" on the government's scientific advisory group. I'd be more concerned if he WASN'T involved in high-level discussions and planning, you know being the Chief Adviser n'all. Thankfully members of SAGE have already clarified his minimal involvement.

Anyway - and I make no apology for using and expanding on a social media post, it made me smile a little smile. The below rings very true with the media - let's imagine the UK produces the first CV19 vaccine in just a few weeks and Matt Hancock announces vaccinations have already begun...

BBC: "will you apologise for not creating it sooner?"
ITV: "is it true the vaccine contains animal products?"
Channel 4: "wouldn't this have been quicker if we had joined the EU vaccination scheme?"
Sky: "you said creating a vaccine would take a year; do you accept you were misleading Parliament and the public?"
Mirror: "isn't it true austerity stopped the vaccine being created sooner?"
Guardian: "do you accept our report showing the vaccine is less effective in BAME groups?"
Independent: "we have evidence the vaccine team is 95% white, will you apologise for this bias?"
Metro: "do you accept millions could die from this vaccine?"
Labour: "we need to know why the government doesn't have 67 million vaccines available immediately."
RLFans: "apparently Boris Johnson was one of the first to have the vaccination, he should be giving it to the NHS and the vulnerable, typical Tories, abusing their privilege again..." :D

You've not told us how the Daily Mail or the Sun would have reported the news.

I would have no idea, I haven't looked at either in probably a decade.

Why don't you give it a go? :D

Since the racing was suspended here, the only time I've had a bet (and that was only for fun) was on the Virtual Grand National.

I have a friend who has really taken to the Belarusian football ... it's not for me though.
