Your particular religious doctrine may not recognise the difference, however in a tolerent modern society such as the UK most people can clearly see the difference between acts taking place consisting of consenting adults which do no harm to anyone else and acts which cause harm to others. If your religious doctrine can not distinguish between the two then so much for your religious doctrine.
