Today are mostly been about Bayside's Sirens and Condolences album.

If anything screamed "emo" it is this album, but it's bloody good at it!

I know they are not remotely British but I'm off to watch Guns n Roses tonight.

Used to be a huge fan, although now it's just Axl Rose and whichever musicians he's not fallen out with. I'm only going as the tickets were a present off the wife...... Have been reading tour reviews and apparently they don't come on stage till 10:30-11:00ish.

The musicians he's not fallen out with are far more talented than the ones he has fallen out with, so they will still put on a good show. Just don't expect classic GNR, they're a modern and talented band being held back by Rose's belief that it's 1996 and he's still right. I get the feeling that if he let them write and record a few albums, they'd have good enough material to be worth watching in their own right, but instead he insists on playing material written 25 years ago by people he claims to want no links to.

Going to watch them is a pain only if you want to see the support act. I've never bothered and turned up at about 10. But you will get the idiotic minority who turn up at 7 and get a mood on because their last train home is 10.40.

Dan Andriano in the Emergency Room, the side project of Alkaline Trio bassist Dan Andriano, touring in Britain? Lovely stuff.

The gig was ok. Must admit that I have watched Slash and his band a few times over the last 2 years and enjoyed those gigs far more.

Guns N' Roses were brilliant in Manchester last night, this is the 6th time i have seen them and i loved every minute of it...

They came on stage at 11.00 ish and we only left the arena at around 3.00am - a very long set which included some real high points - most notably Estranged and Civil War - not songs i have ever seen them perform live before.

Still don't understand why people buy tickets to watch this band and then expect them to start the show at 9.00pm - do your research please!

I must admit I didn't bother this time. It would have been my 4th Chinese Democracy tour. I just don't understand why they don't release music any more? The likes of Ashba and Thal are obviously desperate to put their own stamp on the band and play songs they've been involved in. Most of the stuff they play from Appetite is 26/27 years old, the UYI stuff is 22/23 years old and even the 'new' Chinese Democracy stuff is now 10-15 years old as it was written during the Buckethead/Finck days. He went on about not attending the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame induction as he wanted to showcase the new band and not dig up the old band, but then doesn't back the new band by releasing new music and still plays the old bands music.
