Not long to wait for more official info now, all major press conferences at this year's E3 are happening on Monday. Unfortunately the Sony conference doesn't start until 2am UK time this year! Coffee at the ready!

So what do we think so far?

Sony has gone down the cheap PR soundbite route, saying they won't charge for used games (Just means the developers will, you will have to pay a fee to use them online, like with EA games on this gen) and have undercut Microsoft by £80 (But you'll have to pay for the camera/Move accessory seperately no doubt?). Sony have also reportedly slipped into the small print the fact that you'll have to pay for online multiplayer gaming, which has always been one of the main points of discussion with the PS fans on here.

Exclusives look slightly stronger on Xbox to start with according to reports, the controller still looks better, it has Forza and I'm completely biased to start with. So Xbox for me. Anyone changing sides this time?

I'll probably get both, but am keener on the PS4 and will do most of the gaming on that.

The crowd reaction when Jack Tretton announced the used games policy was hilarious

It will be interesting to see how things go if these two consoles launch relatively close together. Fanboys such as Saddened obviously already had their minds made up long before a pricing structure was announced, but for casual gamers who were on the fence a difference of $100 in price will make a huge difference in their decision.
Not too bothered about the fee for online as I already have a PS Plus subscription and it is fantastic value for money. It's not expensive and I guess it was too big a revenue stream for Sony to ignore.

As far as the games are concerned, I was really impressed by quite a few different titles that were shown over all of the major conferences:

MGS 5 looked absolutely stunning
Titanfall looked like a lot of fun - good job it's coming out on the pc too ;)
Watch Dogs still looks just as impressive as ever
The Division came out of nowhere and looks incredible - Ubisoft really do have some stunning titles in development
Destiny also looked like a game I will definitely be getting - it looked absolutely beautiful and the gameplay itself looked like a lot of fun.

It will, it certainly seems Sony have learned from their mistakes. It'll be interesting to see what Microsoft do about that. Are they just happy to assume their existing base will stay loyal, will they do a one month reduction (Of £80) for Christmas or a one off reduction of £80 for existing Live subscribers? Will they do the subscription model that has been rumoured?

That's an interesting thing about this upcoming generation's launch so far; Sony appear to have learnt from their mistakes of the PS3 launch, whereas Microsoft seem to be doing the opposite and adopting a few of them this time around.

I still haven't seen anything that convinces me a new generation is due, yet. I think that overall this could be the slowest/weakest generation transition yet seen.

massively disappointed by xbox one so far, ps4 looks much better for actual gamers, I'm tempted to just go for a PC.

Has anyone got a list of the exclusives for both consoles that have been announced? I know a few such as, Halo and gears. MGS, Final Fantasy.

Watch dogs, is that going to be for both?
