I'm not a Labour voter but no one of any political persuasion should be happy at having a lackluster opposition. It is a pre-requisite for a vibrant Democracy, and utterly crucial for keeping the government of the day honest. The Conservatives demonstrated that you trample around the wilderness for quite a while (Ian Duncan-Smith, Michael Howard etc) before finding your way back to being credible government in waiting. Labour are on a very long road back from oblivion and it will take some time. But to pretend they haven't turned a corner under the new leader is wishful thinking by some.

It was the Conservatives who nationalised some parts of the railways at great expense due to the errors of failing Grayling. With regards broadband they are now suggesting the extension to all homes much like they ridiculed when Labour proposed the same.
With regards the influence of the private sector the much admired Dido of the test, track and trace failures who came from this sector is not the best example especially when the shares at TalkTalk increased when she left. I presume her experience as a Tory peer and married to a Tory MP means she is an ideal candidate to temporarily run the new NHS organisation.
It is agreed that to enter lockdown early would have reduced the number of deaths and the time the restrictions applied so not sure why this would be different under a Labour government.
Who was it that appointed an IRA supporter to the lords Corbyn or Johnson.

Still a Labour led administration ,with a couple of bones thrown to LD and Independent.
But i suppose we can now also add LD to list of parties that have party to the debacle.

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

Tories nationalised on a short term basis - never meant to be in public ownership long term as you know. Who is suggesting the government own the broadband network - nobody in the government.

I agree re. Dido - inappropriate

Re lockdown - Johnson's hesitance was all around not trashing the economy - Labour would have had no such quarms - as you well know

Not sure about the IRA supporter?

It was one of Johnson’s Brexit awards Claire Fox.

"Johnsons hesitance" is what Johnson does.
He's quick with his 3 word mantras (actually given by Cummings) but, he's not quick of the mark on anything.
Any leader worth their salt would have knocked some heads together or, jettisoned their failing Minister and got on with sorting out the mess.
Bojo prefers to keep well away and avoid having to make any awkward decisions.

Even with the decision to accept the teacher predictions, there are still kids who will miss out on their choice of Uni, due to the places having been shared out, based on the downgraded results.

Anyone remember the Tory promise to "level up", they were having a bloody laugh.

Wrong. Claire Fox was nominated by the government. The Appointment Commitee rubber stamps those nominations and also has the power to nominate any cross bench appointments.

This says she was nominated by the Brexit Party.

Please direct me to where the Tory Party nominated her?
