Imagine any other case where the victim of a crime was punished. And then imagine people justifying it. But religion does that to (some) people.
People like Kirkstaller would persecute and punish the victims of crime. That's how far removed they are from common decency and humanity and morality.
In Nicaragua, the government brought in a total ban on abortion because of pressure from the Catholic Church. That's a
total ban. So even if a woman is going to die without an abortion, she cannot legally have one.
Women have died unnecessarily. Women are dying unnecessarily.
That is murder.
Kirkstaller and his fellow fundamentalists support murder. They are, in effect, murderers.
And just for a moment remember that the usual right-wing loonies would be along rapidly enough, squealing, if they thought this was the attitude of lefties, 'having more sympathy for the criminal than the victim'. There'd be uproar. But because religion is involved, they stay strangely silent.
