That didn't come across as well as I would have liked. I was just trying to make the point that there can be dignity in life and death without assisted suicide.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I really hope you don't have a position of influence over any children that may believe what you're saying is true! Blind religion is the true evil and people who believe every word of the chosen texts at face value, like you.
If you actually understood the bible, instead of just paying lip service to save yourself when you die, you will know that it has nothing to do with God, miracles or angels. It was produced at a time when science consisted of poking a dead frog with a stick and the only way to make people treat each other better was to scare them and make them god-fearing. The message mainly of the new testament is basically treat each other nice.
As you know, from our previous discussion, that is the teaching in the story of judgment day - a story you decided you don't have to comply with as long as you go to church and pray to yourself. You were found out then as a goat, and you have been found out here no better off.
I'm not bashing religion, Churches are nice places to go and generally have nice people inside them. If you understand the theory of the bible, you can learn a lot about yourself and how you can be a better person (I don't mean by sacrificing lambs and killing your brother). What I hate is when people unthinkingly try to push religious fundamentalism in people's faces and pass it off as what the texts says so must be true.
I feel sorry for Tony's family on his loss, however think it will be melancholic.
