I'd go with that scenario, followed by endless air miles & more meaningful votes until May's crappy deal (which nobody really wants) scrapes through, with the M.P.'s holidays looming. Followed by the next day, May gimping up to the podium in front of Number 10 with that smug grin, to announce her work is now done & exits the stage ala Cameron.

Indeed, then BJ will get the gig and try and rip the whole deal up.

Meanwhile, Corbyn will be at a refugee camp in Syria recruiting.

Remember George Osbourne threatening to hold an emergency budget straight after the referendum if we voted to leave, where he would have to further and drastically cut spending and increase taxes. Thats one of you rubber dinghies is assume.

If you think the volume of deceit spouted by quitlings is REMOTELY equivalent to the things remainers have said inaccurately, then I have nothing at all left to say. It's futile.

I think its better if you don't, I chose to ignore it when you posted it originally. At the time he hadn't quit, believe me mate it was a real threat.

So the Leave campaign has been investigated and found guilty by the Electoral Commission - and is now the subject of an NCA investigation, with links to Russia, Steve Bannon, fraud and corruption - and some people think that's equivalent to predicting that the economy would suffer if we left the EU?

Can I just correct you on one point please, it was no prediction, he was going to do have to do it if we voted to leave, I'm not saying some people think that Osbourne's threat was equivalent, I'M saying for me working for the NHS with all the cuts previously it was worse.

With regards to the Leave EU being found guilty by the Electoral Commission on their spending they should quite rightly be fined, With regards to the other allegations I'm not going to comment at the moment because they are just that allegations.

To be strictly accurate, a Leave campaign rather than the Leave campaign. Vote.EU, rather than the Vote Leave campaign.

So, do we think the further reassurances will be enough? A lot of minds have to be changed, but while it’d be hard to say the EU have blinked, they’ve maybe uncrossed their arms and turned their palms outwards. I think the ERG could vote for it without losing face, but it’ll really come down to whether they ever really wanted to.

Edit - looks like the AG’s advice might have rained on the parade. Surprised by that, I thought she’d get him onside.

If the objection these people had before were about legally binding amendments, I can't see how 'reassurances' could change that stance; who would sign a contract containing clauses they fundamentally disagreed with, if the other party gave 'reassurances' that they'd never be enacted?

The whole thing is a fudge - Mrs May has been characteristically single minded from the outset, and her stupid red lines have alienated pretty much everyone, such that she suffered the biggest defeat in parliamentary history, on a flagship piece of government business. I predict a delay to Article 50, followed by further attempts to polish the same old turd, then a resignation.
