sad to hear the death of Alf Morris the ex MP and later Lord Morris of Manchester
a great fighter for the rights of the disabled and along with Jack Ashley responsable for the vast improvement in the way disabled people are now not only thought of butcared and catered for - many hundreds of thousands of people have benefitted from your dedication - a real hero
a personal thank you Alf for helping people like my father and latterly my wife
Rest In Peace sir and respects and condolencies to your family

To think we once had Jack Ashley and Alf Morris. Now we're lumbered with Iain Duncan Smith, Chris Graying and Maria Miller, how the fook did we get here?
A favourite saying of Alf's was: "If we can't add years to their lives, let's at least add life to their years"

A sad loss indeed
yes, there doesn't appear to be these kind of people in politics any more - the kind that would fight for a cause and not give in
the kind of people universally respected irrespective of party colours

If any party could guarantee the vote of every disabled person, they'd win with a landslide majority.
For an example of what will happen if you have the trick of galvanising a minority, look up "Galloway MP Bradford".
Come 2015, it's going to require a bout of mass amnesia of epic proportions, if this lot think those who have suffered at the ahnds of Atos, have seen housing benefit slashed and have had their working tax credits removed, will simply forget all about it.
Mind you, Dave's little plan for redrawing the constituency boundaries may help him, if only for the fact that he wants it redrawn according to the electoral roll and not by size of voting population.
